One old man we can all admire is snooker player Steve Davis.
Not content with qualifying in the first place, he came through the first round of the World Championship at The Crucible, Sheffield, by a whisker against his practice partner Mark King
Up against the holder John Higgins in the next, he did for him as well.
So, when you think life has nothing to aim for and your bones are aching think Steve Davis.
Who cares if he gets beaten in the quarter final against Mark Selby?
Well, he does. And that’s what keeps him going.
