Sachin Tendulkar is known as the Little Master in cricket. This week he showed how great a sportsman he is – and a decent role model – by hitting 200 not out in a limited overs match for India against South Africa, a world record, and the first time in 30 years of the one-day game it has been achieved.
Tendulkar, who at 36 has been an international cricketer for 20 years, battered the South African attack ignoring occasional attempts to wind him up.
What he did was extraordinary largely because South Africa are top of the tree when it comes to world cricket.
As usual he was modest and gracious in victory. We salute the man.
Ashley, JT, Tiger, take note.
